Defendor! He is a middle-aged man who is mentally handicapped and believes himself to be a necessary superhero. Played by Woody Harrelson, who also starred in Zombieland (2009), Arthur Poppington takes the form of the soldier like Defendor by night and searches for the infamous Captain Industry. He believes that this specific villain killed his mother during his early childhood and thus vows revenge. At the beginning, he swoops down upon an undercover cop about to enjoy his time with a hooker, who is played by Kat Dennings.

The police chief talks with Poppington and sends him on his way, only to encounter him again many more times throughout the 1hr and 40min movie. During the film, Arthur starts off as a simple, slow man, but soon reveals himself to be an unfairly delusional superhero wannabe with the best of intentions.
Defendor, the movie, comes across a bit strong at first with the hooker, Kat, taking advantage of Poppington, and even a judge treats him as a child. All the insults and tones of these vile, nasty citizens only boosts Harrelson’s character as someone the audience can cling to and root for all of the way. It becomes a breather every time Harrelson appears on screen to balance out the grim overtone of life that engulfs the unnamed city. This is truly a brilliant movie when it comes to making an excellent main character.
Unfortunately, side characters, such as Kat and Paul and even the main villain are left without much depth and feel hollow at times. Paul being the generic caring character that worries about his mentally handicapped friend, and Kat is generic in that she starts out sour and selfish and soon opens up to Poppington. While it is not necessary for these characters to be overly important, it would have been nice to have more than one to grip viewers.
Besides the characters, Defendor has a great story that takes a realistic look at a believable superhero including all his trials and hardships. At times it almost feels too oppressive, especially when there is no true uplifting moment. Instead Poppington is met with failure after failure, with quite a few touching moments placed in between. Being an overall depressing movie for over half the film will simply bum some viewers out who enjoyed films such as Spiderman, Ironman, or even Batman. This is not a “good guy wins in the end” movie, but is instead something else entirely. For all those who wanted to be a superhero as a child, saw Zombieland last year, or just enjoy superhero movies, stick with Defendor all the way through and receive a memorable experience like no other.
Only the trailer can say it better than I can!
Splinter Cell: Conviction continues the story of Sam Fisher and his search to find his daughter killer.

The story takes place three years after the events of Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Sam finds out the his daughter death was know accident and now is out to find his daughters killer, along the way Sam learns that there is a plot to kill the president of the United States of America using Third Echelon as bait.

The game play is much more fast paced then previous games in a series. interrogation scenes are awesome to look at but can be limiting at times only allowing up to one or two things to be done at a time, mark and execute is another good feature, if you kill an enemy in close quarters combat you are given an execute, which allows you to kill up to four marked targets in quick succession, the last known position is also a great way to lose the enemy if you’re spotted. Co-op story is prequel of the main story, which has you and a friend going to find four stolen Russian EMPs that are about to be sold on the black market, Co-op adds some nice features like, dual interrogation scenes, Co-op mark and execute which slows down time to allow you and you’re friend to do a dual execution of up to 8 enemys at once, you can also revive you’re friend if he’s about to die which can be very useful at times.

It’s time to talk about the bad parts of this game now, let’s start things off with the MOTHERFUCKING A BUTTON!. I don’t know who’s Idea it was to map all of the actions to ONE FUCKING BUTTON, like for example i try to move to cover and i pick a gun, i try to revive a teammate and i pick up a gun, i try to pick up a gun and i jump off something, but who ever it was I hate you so much. There are some missions that force you to be stealthy which can be very annoying at times especially since you can’t move bodies or shoot some lights and cameras.
At times the game can feel linear and well force you in to combat while at other times can feel too open making it hard to tell where to go. while co-op is fun, there are only a few thing that require you to have a partner to do like dual EMP blasts or the only co-op jump in the entire game…
The turrets in the game are also very annoying and in my opinion they can kill the game for me.

Overall I loved the game alot but there are some annoying problems (I’m looking at you A button) but it’s an awesome game and the problems in the game aren’t all that bad just annoying.

8-Bit Rebellion is an iPhone App designed by Alternative rock Linkin Park
(Writer’s note, if you read this, imagine it in 8 bit, with the 8 bit version of one step closer on)

Gameplay:
8-Bit Rebellion is a very repetitive experience, with too much back and forth making the game feel one giant fetch quest. for example, you have to earn Chester’s trust by vandalizing wanted posters, so you go to all of the towns in the game to do this which can get very boring, most of the quests in the game are like this. The touch controls can be vary hard to use, while the on screen buttons can be very unresponsive at times.

Graphics and Sound:
The presentation of the high res or low res 8-bit graphics is pretty cool but is about the only cool thing in this game…
The sound on the another hand is not all that great, getting to hear linkin park in 8-bit is cool for the first time but if I hear One Step Closer in 8-bit one more time I am gonna kill someone.
The music can be so repetitive at times it’s not funny, all you get to listen to is the same 8 songs over and over again.

Facebook and Twitter integration are nice for people with friends, you can also “poke” people like on facebook and chat with anybody you see. bulletin boards are on most of the levels for people to post whatever they want, like the end of the game…
You can also play the entire game offline if you don’t like people or don’t have friends, like normal people.

I bought this app as a fan of linkin park to get the new song blackbirds but for some reason or another when you unlock the song you can not import it to you’r iPod if you want to listen to it you have to go back to the app every time. I do not know why we can not import the song in to iTunes or the iPod app.

Overall i am very disappointed with this app I love the art and graphics but hate the sound and repetitive gameplay

Opera Mini is the long awaited alternative web browser App for the iPhone.

Let’s start things off with the features, the Ui is fast and easy to use, with the loading times for the browsing being faster then Safari, in Safari you can only have up to 8 tabs open once, but in Opera Mini you can have over 50 tabs, there is also an option to save webpages for viewing at a later time,
You can also use a full screen mode see the picture below for more info.

The picture above is also where the problems begin, when zoomed out for some reason or another all the text on webpages look like a 5 year took a marker and went to town on them, using more than 15 or so tabs can cause slowdown or lag,
There is also no multitasking to be found which really killed the experience for me.

Overall it’s not that great of an alternative web browser for the iPhone

Commodore 64 is a emulator App for the iPhone OS that let’s you play old Commodore 64 game’s like Dragon’s Den, Samurai Warrior, and more.

The App features multiple Commodore 64 game’z that you can buy or get for free from the AppStore, you can also use OpenFeint, which gives you access to leaderboard’s, achievement’s, and more, you can also use Save States which let’s you come back to any of the Commodore 64 games you want at any time.

The Apps interface gives the look of a old bookshelf, With the game’s being 8-bit, which look pretty good on the iPhone screen, but that is not saying much.

The controls are all done using the on screen joystiq, and buttons, or in some cases a keyboard, all of the game’s can be played in landscape, or portrait mode, with portrait being the funnest, landscape on the other hand is much harder to play, see the picture below for more info.

Overall the Commodore 64 App gives you a nice trip down memory lane, but the trip can be a kinda bumpy one.

Well well well look what finally reared it’s ugly head; The digg iPhone app.

Anyway to start things off, The GUI is silck and clean while the look and feel of it make it seem like it is an official Apple App like the calendar app.

And with that most of the features of the full site are here, Users have the ability to vote and view comments on stories, Aswell as the ability to send articles to friends using Twitter, Facebook, and through E-mail. You also have an option to save stories for later.

And here is where the problems begin,
Scrolling in the list of articles and Categories can cause alot of lag and or slowdown in some cases, there has also been some complaints of freezing and or crashing, But overall the app is pretty good not the best but not the worst, I give this app a 3 out of 5
While I was writing this review I found out that by shaking my iPhone, It can undo anything Wii type!
Lol

Canabalt is a simple yet addictive one button action game in the style of doodle jump, making it fun and easy to play, but difficult to master.

Upon starting the game up you’ll see that the game emphasizes the need for sound, this adds to the overall atmosphere that the game creates, similar to a summer action film.

The graphics do have a sort of hand drawn or cel-shaded feel, giving the game a truly unique look, The animation is exetremely well done, with the bird and running animation’s being top notch.

You also have the ability to submit you’re highscores to the leaderboards, or to you’re Twitter account.

Whether it is the birds or the things you see off in the distance; in the end it all adds to that overall atmosphere, Which is what really make’s this game great.
